Touch Drawing is an intuitive art process discovered by Deborah Koff-Chapin on the last day of art school at Cooper Union in New York. She often refers to it as "drawing out your soul," for it is both an artistic method and a way of connecting to one's inner visions. A flat sheet of hard material is inked with a roller and translucent paper is laid down gently. The drawing is done on the back of the paper with your fingers, then peeled off. A series of drawings can be done quickly, and later, color can be applied if you wish. These drawings were laid over a collage of bits of tissue paper, then painted over with transparent glue.
Collage is an intuitive process - pictures are selected, cut or torn, glued down. The finished piece can express a dream, tell a story, or open into a conversation.
